Greetings, and welcome to the new home of the grass-roots cytology blog, The Populist Cytologist™! My name is Jana Sullinger, MD, and I am the Founder and Creator of CYTOPATHNET® and The Populist Cytologist™ blog. I have hosted The Populist Cytologist™ for many years on CYTOPATHNET®, but have elected to change things up a bit, and try a somewhat different format for blogging. My intent is to provide timely information regarding cytology (or for those of you who prefer, cytopathology) on a frequent basis, that will be of interest to those in the field, primarily cytotechnologists, cytopathologists, and pathologists. Students will also find some useful information, as well as nurse practitioners, OB-GYNs, physician assistants, and anyone else who has the urge.
I will be blogging about recent articles in cytology regarding cytology quality improvement (assessment), evidence-based pathology, and cytology practice guidelines. Stay tuned for interesting cytology cases, glossary of terms, and discussion about the Bethesda System for cervical cytology and thyroid cytology.
